Integrated B.S./M.S. Program
Interested undergraduates may plan a course of study that leads to both the BS in Civil Engineering and the MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. With the approval of their academic advisor, students may take courses while an undergraduate that will count toward their MS degree as long as these courses are beyond the 373 units required for the BS in Civil Engineering degree. This course of study will ordinarily require ten semesters of study, although advanced placement or other study may reduce this time. Students in the Intergrated B.S./M.S. program must have satisfied all requirements for the B.S. degree and are expected to be registered for a minimum of one semester of full-time study in the M.S. program. In addition, students in the intergrated B.S./M.S. program are required to complete all of the requirements for the M.S. degree.
Students must indicate their interest in enrolling in the programin the second semester of thier junior year, and no later than the 7th semester of their undergraduate program. Admitted students will be registered in graduate status in the 9th and 10th semesters of study. Upon admission, they will have a graduate studies advisor assigned to them. The students are expected to meet with the graduate advisors regularly in selecting the courses that they plan to take for their graduate studies.
Interested students should consult with their academic advisor, and then contact Maxine Leffard, Graduate Program Administrator, at the beginning of their senior year for information about application and transfer of graduate level courses to the M.S. program.
