Cyanide in Water and Wastewater

Cyanide compounds are used in large quantities in the United States in metal mining and processing industries. Some forms of cyanide are highly toxic (e.g., HCN), and thus concentrations in soil and water are required to be quite low. Removal of cyanide from waste streams is thus a critical challenge for water and wastewater.
