Organic Chelating Agents

Anthropogenic chelating agents are widely used in industrial and consumer products and processes. Most uses are open, resulting in discharge of chelates to natural waterways. Chelating agents have been detected in most surface waters and many groundwaters. Chelating agents can be biodegraded under some conditions.
