PCBs in River Sediment

The proper management of PCB-contaminated sediment has proven to be a wide-spread, complex, and costly issue. PCBs are a primary contaminant driving risk for many river systems. There is a need for sound science and effective tools to characterize and manage these sites in a way that reduces risk to human health and the environment and gains regulatory acceptance.
